Welcome! So here is a little about me - the not so short and sweet version.
I am a certified personal trainer and group fitness instructor. I have been training and teaching for over 10 years. I graduated in 2003 with a B.S. in Exercise Science. In 2010, I married a soldier, who is now a football coach (I will definitely have to provide the details on that another day). And in 2014, we had our first little one.
So far, being a coach's wife has been an exciting, scary, and crazy experience, but I have loved every minute of it. This is where I personally have found it so important to trust in God, and know that he has a plan for you. Sometimes this maybe easier said than done, but with prayer and faith you trust him to lead the way. I honestly would rather my husband be passionate and love his job, than to dread working in a job that he doesn't feel brings him the joy that coaching does. He gets to not only teach these guys how to become talented ball players, but he mentors and shows them how to become fantastic leaders. This makes it all worth it at the end of the day!
Fitness is truly a passion I want to share with everyone. I have mainly worked in military fitness as a civilian. But since the birth of our son and my husband's new job coaching, I am back teaching and training at a local fitness center. I absolutely loved my time with the military. There is no better reward than getting to improve the lives of the men and women of our armed forces through fitness. Who knows, maybe I will return one day....
Some of the classes I teach are freestyle cardio toning, TRX, Spin, Pilates, and bootcamps. Since recently going through a pregnancy myself, I added pre and postnatal fitness to my certifications. I am excited to begin a mommy and me class series in the next couple weeks.
I am also a Beachbody Coach. My favorite workout series so far is the 21 Day Fix. 21 days, 30 minute challenging workouts, and a simple clean eating plan! Doesn't get any easier. Plus I LOVE Shakeology, for a busy mom of a little one, these shakes are the best. It is easy to whip up a shake for breakfast or lunch, and know that I am getting all the important nutrients I need.
Being from the South, food is a huge part of your life. So I LOVE to cook. But of course when it comes to losing weight or being healthy, diet is 80% of it. I have learned how to adapt most of my favorite recipes into healthier versions. But on special occasions, I will go all out and do it up southern style all the way.
Also we have 2 jack russell pups, our first fur babies.
With this website, I hope to provide fun and exciting info about fitness, being a football coach's wife, family, food, and maybe some fashion here and there. If there are any questions, I would love to hear from you!
